The Apprentice Season 6: Los Angeles Show 7

I just finished watching The Apprentice Season 6: Los Angeles seventh episode. The prior link goes to NBC's site. A better site is Yahoo! Apprentice site.

I agree with Trump's decision to fire Jenn. As soon as the Kinetic team decided to go with go-carts, I knew that the team had lost. Go-carts and Lexus do not go together. Rather the demonstrating the Lexus's impressive features, people were going to waste time playing with go-carts—a very bad and crucial decision by Jenn. She deserved to be fired.

Jenn, however, does deserve special mention in that she left the show with class. She stood her ground, thanked her teammates, and wished everyone well. I think even Trump learned something from her departure. Her professional demeanor will serve her well.

I was disappointed with Derek. He threw in the towel prematurely. Had he simply fought a bit and used his wits, he would have survived. Although he originally suggested go-carts, he did not strongly endorse his own quick idea and was not responsible for going with it. Moreover, the signage, while bad, was not the reason why Kinetic lost the task. All Derek had to do was hang in there. He failed to do that and gave up instead with his wisecrack about white trash. He deserved to be fired.

Although I was generally impressed with Muna, I was disappointed with her and Heidi's overly obsessive focus on every little detail about the Lexus 460 luxury sedan. While it is important to understand the car's key features, Muna and Heidi should have thought about the time. How much time would they be presenting the car to the audience, and during that time, what key features do they want to convey? If they had understood the car's key features more quickly, perhaps they could have helped the rest of the team in providing a more professional and polished atmosphere for the Lexus guests. That said, Muna and Heidi did win the praise of the Lexus executives.

Surya is on borrowed time. He does not have the confidence of his team. Moreover, I think his team would have won with or without him.

At this point, I do not have a favorite candidate to win. I am still trying to assess the candidates' leadership skills.

The quick highlights of the next episode look interesting, so I am curious to see if the teams are reconfigured. And I am curious to see how the candidates perform in their next task.
